Olympic Opening Ceremony

Day 1, Sierra Sur Olympic Games
 
Yesterday, the sixth of April 2022, our Olympic Games began for all the students of Obligatory Secondary Education level. This day was divided into four parts: preparation meetings for the students, parades, opening speech, individual sports. Our meetings took place at 9:15 am during de second period; there, we were informed about how the whole event was going to be realized. Right after that, we were given a time to have our breakfast, as at 11 am the parades were going to start. On it, all members of the different continents, including the Olympic mascot (created by our high school Guidance Department) exhibited themselves to the rhythm of their own hymns (composed in the music class) and accompanied by their respective flags (designed by the students of Art of 2nd level and brought to reality by the wonderful people of 4th level).

Later, two speeches were recited by students of 3rd level (one of them in English, written with the help of the English teacher of that level); then the Olympic oath was promised and finally the individual sports began, in which all the students from all levels participated competing and having fun at the same time.

Worth mentioning the fact that there was no problem while all the events were happening. In fact, all our high school was impregnated with an AWESOME atmosphere.

Closing Ceremony of the Olympics

  Last Day, Sierra Sur Olympic Games   On Good Friday,  eighth of April, the ribbon that bound this festival at the very end was nothing more and nothing less than... Final matches between best teams survivors at this point! All games were awe-inspiring! Adrenaline seemingly spread around the school, while spectators were laughing and shouting out loud with excitement! Technology Department

How is the technology department involved in the Olympic games?   After the posts we have recently published, we hope that you are considering the big role that each department has in the making of the different things for the Olympic Games. So in this case, Anabel, who is the head of this department, designed the Olympic torch (that was actually REALLY big in size !!!) and the medals that were given to the winners, with the AWESOME collaboration of students of 3 ESO, who printed them 3D . The first position medal, as we know was a gold medal ( just joking, it was just gold in color) with a star and the number 1 in the middle. The second position, was a silver-colored one, with a symbol of a person running and also written " IES SIERRA SUR  21/22 " next to it. The medal for the third position was a bronze-colored, with a three-layered star in the middle and written IES SIERRA SUR around the star.
