The incredible contribution of the music department to our Olympic Games As we told you on our last post, on April 6th our first Olympic Games' opening ceremony was held, although we aren't going to repeat all of that! In fact, in this newest entry we want to focus on what our high school's music department had to offer. To represent the event and each country, many flags, symbols and what we are focusing on this time, hymns, were made and chosen in order to honor the true purpose of these: to represent an idea or ideal for which a team and people stand. Ana Esperanza Moreno Ramos, our fantastic music teacher, along with her different classes worked together to choose the best music to constitute each country, which would end up being played by students from different levels with a xylophone! As stated by Ana, while it was difficult to coordinate all of her students, most of them showed enthusiasm contributing their ideas and practicing with the instrument to give all of us

Closing Ceremony of the Olympics

  Last Day, Sierra Sur Olympic Games   On Good Friday,  eighth of April, the ribbon that bound this festival at the very end was nothing more and nothing less than... Final matches between best teams survivors at this point! All games were awe-inspiring! Adrenaline seemingly spread around the school, while spectators were laughing and shouting out loud with excitement! Olympic Opening Ceremony

Day 1, Sierra Sur Olympic Games   Yesterday, the sixth of April 2022, our Olympic Games began for all the students of Obligatory Secondary Education level. This day was divided into four parts: preparation meetings for the students, parades, opening speech, individual sports. Our meetings took place at 9:15 am during de second period; there, we were informed about how the whole event was going to be realized. Right after that, we were given a time to have our breakfast, as at 11 am the parades were going to start. On it, all members of the different continents, including the Olympic mascot (created by our high school Guidance Department) exhibited themselves to the rhythm of their own hymns (composed in the music class) and accompanied by their respective flags (designed by the students of Art of 2nd level and brought to reality by the wonderful people of 4th level).
