English Department

Amazing involvement of the English department in the event of the Olympic Games.

In this post, we will explain all the different things done by the English department to obtain the results of that wonderful event.

We don't know if you guys remember that on the first day of the event, there was a speech given by Jonay. It was prepared by himself but with the help of his English teacher, Juan Collado.

Then, by asking more about what the English department did, we came to know more things that actually amazed us. Do you guys remember the Jackson 5???? The amazing performance by the wonderful teacher's team!!!! And the anaconda dance ??? YES, they were actually part of this. When we asked Yoli Morillo about this, she explained to us the whole concept. She pointed out that the song they used for the dance, actually helped her to work with her students with the imperative, present simple, and also to teach about respect and responsibility.

And now, about the anaconda dance. That's actually what got us really stunned. It was to show and teach everyone that team work is a must, and to know that if anyone makes a mistake, the rest will also have to face the consequences. Let us finish this with what Yoli said."We are just pieces of dominoes, and if one falls, everyone else will too..."

*SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT: we, the awesome reporters, also working on behalf of this department, with the help of every teacher and especially our beloved English teacher Yolanda!!

    1. Music culture 70s-80s.
      Why the song ABC?
three main reasons among others: easy lyrics and choreography so that students with special needs could participate in the class project and the message.
